Paul lives in Hereford and has been an artist since 2005, an interest that grew when he was still working for the home office.
He is ex military with operational experience and previously served with the Royal Engineers. Paul now enjoys his art work in between working on various projects, all over the world. He has completed twelve exhibitions and is a published artist. His commission work has included a painting for the Chief Constable of West Mercia Police.
Pauls work has been described as bold, colourful and painterly. His thick application of acrylic paint leaves a tactile image that is enjoyed by all age groups.
This commission was a collaboration between Major Al Prescott RE and Paul and shows six modern day soldiers at an O Group, whilst spirits from different conflicts and representing various regiments, look on. This reinforcing the idea that we as soldiers, are never alone "non Solus" and adds to the symbolism of the work.
The dramatic sky and clouds, lead the eye to the centre groups of soldiers and gives the work, a non earthly and spiritual feel.
"My art is not to replicate a photograph, but hopefully takes the eye and mindset of the viewer to give a thought provoking experience"
